Updating Your Software - Simple Instructions

Please print this page and follow instructions carefully when updating your software.

Using these updates will not affect activation of your licensed software, and your activation key is guaranteed to work as long as you install the update on the same computer.

Fair Warning! Make a backup copy of your CPC software. This is not a requirement to accomplish an update, but having a backup copy secures your custom data (machine list, setups, etc.) should something go wrong.

If you follow these instructions, your update should not affect your custom data (machine list, setups, etc.)

If you are a licensed user and are moving software to a new computer, you will need a new activation key. Please your company name, phone number of someone we may contact, and the computer ID displayed by the software when you try to activate it. Please include your Email address. You will receive a new activation key.

If you are a first time visitor and would like to download a complete software demo, this update page will not work for you. Please go to the Demo Download page to access complete demo software with sample data.

Please follow the steps below to update your CPC software.

Step 1. You must be able to download an executable file from the internet, i.e. a file with an .EXE extension. If you are unable to complete the next steps, then check with your system administrator to find out if your system prevents you from downloading and/or installing executable files.

Step 2. Updates are always compressed into a single self-extracting downloadable file ending with ..."UPD.EXE" or "...UP.EXE". The (...) indicates the part of the filename that matches the software package you are updating. When selecting the correct update download be sure to find the one that matches your licensed CPC program - updates for different CPC programs are not interchangeable.

Step 3. When downloading a new update, save the new ...UPD.EXE file into the same directory as your existing CPC software. The ...UPD.EXE (or ...UP.EXE) file is different from the demo download since it contains only modified program and help files, and does not contain sample data files like the demo. This allows you to unzip the ...UPD.EXE file directly into your software directory without fear of overwriting any of your existing data files. Depending on how you've used your package you probably have custom summaries, tooling, change gear numbers, machine constants, etc. saved in your data files that you want to preserve.

Step 4. Right click Start and select Explore to open up your Windows File Explorer. Find your existing CPC software directory which should contain the ...UPD.EXE (or ...UP.EXE) file you just downloaded.

Double click the ...UPD.EXE (or ...UP.EXE) file to begin the auto extraction process. You can answer "Y" at each prompt or "A" for all to extract and replace the necessary files to accomplish the update.

Congratulations! You have just completed the update for your CPC software.
