Dear Mr Young,
I have a similar SB lathe, which has been dismantled. I found your info this morning, and thought you may be able to help me.
I would like to know -
What was the "original" or factory setting of the change-wheel train,
and, as I have a 100/127 metric conversion gear, where does it go in the gear train to do its conversion?
As I have yet to cut any metric threads, - but the day will come!
I have the 1942 South Bend re-print, but it only deals with the older machines.
I would be grateful for your advice.
