Thank you very much for your advice. It is informative. I've already ask for quotation from Vesta Works. It is good to hear the name from another gear manufacturer.

But I meant point width of the "head" not the "blade". In other words I meant "spread of blades". You know there are adjustment screws on the heads for each blade. These screws along with some shims in appropriate size allow one to adjust the spread of blade to some degree.

You are right about that, the spread of blades has already been written on the head. Yet my goal is to set a head to an arbitrary spread value. In order to achieve this one should be able to measure the spread of blades. Don't you think?

So the question stands...
