Thanks for the reply. I do not have the 32 tooth in my posession but I did see it and it did indeed have 32 teeth. The reason that I am asking is because I need to make two gears that have 31 teeth and I need them to run at this center distance.
I have to admit that I have never made a gear that had a profile shift. All the ones I made so far were a standard gear.
I do have a standard 6dp gear and it runs real nice against this 30 tooth gear so you are probably right about this having a positive profile shift.
The next problem is to figure out the proper outside diameter of this new 31 tooth gear. I found this online gear calculator to figure the proper dimensions. Does this look like it will give me the proper dimensions?
