Hobbing feeds and speeds are based on a number of factors, material, tooling rigidity, and machine condition. For the best source of suggested cutting speeds for hobbing, the Machining Data Handbook will give you the suggested speeds for almost any given material, and give you suggested cuttings feeds, which I find a bit aggressive, unless you are using new machinery with rigid fixturing. To find the surface feet per minute of any hob, multiply the hod OD by PI(3-14159) and then multiply this answer by .262 .As for feed per hob revolution, use the suggested feeds from the book mentioned,or Machinerys hand book,or any other source of suggested machining feeds.
