Tom, Thanks for showing your summary. I understand your point, but it doesn't apply in this case. Please bear with me. My list shows the pinion and gear share the same addendum dimension. This is the difference. Your list shows different addendum dimensions. The set cut with your data would be a better set. I have to make a mating crown for a customer's pinion. His pinion is from a very old drawing. The crown drawing is also very old. As we know, the customer is always right! My question is: why did I have to close the tooth angle smaller than the list to get the right chordal thickness.
