Gidday. just got a tiny little baby hobbing machine. Universal with a differential, no tangential feed,5"OD 10DP capacity.
The manual says it is possible to machine worms, (NOT wormwheels) using a disc type cutter but gives no more info on how to do this. can some one please help to describe the procedure.this is a new one for me. If I can get this to work , I have a 15 start 14&1/2 PA 30DP worm to cut. I need to maintain the straight rack profile,as for a worm, not generate an involute tooth profile.any advice appreciated Bradley
