So, I was actually thinking the similarly after I spent some more time on it, but you laid it out well. I can't shake the feeling that this can be solved with the correct math, though...

Let's for a minute assume that we were to simulate a proper Hob... Let's say 10 teeth per rotation for sake of keeping it round and simple. That would be the Axial Pitch / 10. Would this be as simple as calculating the amount of radial rotation of the blank required to equal this 1/10th Axial Pitch, and then Hob shifting this same amount? And then, how exactly would one accomplish this feat of micro indexing?

How exactly are Tangetial Feeds geared, typically? ( Obviously, I don't have one so cannot just go run and check. )
