The idler gears you are adding need to be on their own shafts. You are using them to reverse the direction of rotation, so the number of teeth does not matter. The new shafts can be placed wherever you have the most room for them, between first driver and first driven or between last driver and last driven. So your gear train should be 2 fixed shafts and 2 intermediate shafts.
