Double enveloping worm should be used with double enveloping worm gear. In general you can mesh a helical or spur gear with ahypoid or spiral bevel gear but you would not do that because these are different gears. I did simulation of the tooth contact for your design. A globoid pinion can mesh with a regular worm gear with no transmission error but the contact will be concentrated on the middle section of the gear tooth. In other words the gear can have 0 width. It can be for example a sheet metal spur gear. Will work the same like a cut worm gear.
