I don’t know anything about the #3 but was wondering if it has a “fixed center” set of gears in the indexing train. Most hobbers I’ve used do and allow you to set up a 2/1 train rather than the usual 1/1. This would allow you to set up the change gears for 83 teeth and end up cutting 166 teeth.
