I would love to know more about your sources, as well as your experiences with making cutters.
When you refer to the Profile Angle, as you referring the angle of the Plane that the Involute Profile is constructed upon? Or, the Plane that is Normal to the gear blank? ( as opposed to the Face Angle )
Have you ever constructed a cutter for a form other than Involute? If so, how did you calculate/lay out the form with regard to the desired result?
So many other questions... I find this subject very interesting within the context of a shop being able to react to a need.
