This program creates summaries for Gleason® Nos. 104 & 114 Coniflex® Straight Bevel Generators. These machines use two rotary milling style cutters. Cutters control tooth bearing pattern. Often a range of cutters will be useable for a particular summary.
CPC-BV4 improves on the traditional summary calculation method by giving the user control over tooth profile as well as bearing. For this reason, you should expect machine settings in CPC-BV4 summaries to differ slightly from machine settings in summaries based on the "traditional" method.
CPC-BV4 provides all dimensional input based on industry standards and suggests all appropriate cutter choices for a range of tooth bearings.
These default input values may be changed, but CPC-BV4 informs you of questionable choices. Choices that won't work are prevented and explained.
Use it during your quote phase to avoid surprises and unforseen problems. Identify jobs requiring special tooling (as you know, customers have been known to send out "difficult" jobs).
CPC-BV4's unique features at a glance:
Metric and English dimensions and settings
Optionally print Metric dimensions and machine settings, including cutter offsets.
(all user inputs are in English units, however)
Enter Pitch, or optionally enter OD to find Pitch/Module
Assists user with samples to quickly determine pitch or module.
Uses Tilted Root Line to control Profile Mismatch
User enters desired profile mismatch and program automatically creates machine settings.
Select either 104 or 114 machine. No other machine data required
Machine constants, tooling inventories, and change gear inventories are maintained
by program for each individual machine in the shop.
Default dimensions and tooling choices based on industry standards
You optionally enter dimensions and tooling selections when necessary. CPC-BV4
detects and warns user when a problem is encountered with an input.
Handles angular sets (shaft angle is not 90 Degrees)
Suggests correct long (pinion) & short (gear) addendums
Necessary in high ratio sets where small number of pinion teeth would
otherwise result in undercut.
Determines balanced tooth strength by suggesting best tooth thicknesses
Tooth thickness can be entered to cut one member to match an existing set.
Saves setup/summary history to an internal database
You may rerun an old summary, make changes, save, or save as new.
No graphs, tables, or calculator necessary
CPC-BV4 develops all gear design dimensions, change gears, and machine settings.
Keeps a list of your change gear inventory
You may add new sizes to cut prime and other size gears missing from 22.5/N table.
All Roll ratio and Index change gears supplied on summary
You can choose Nc/25 or Nc/50 to keep same selection gear on machine
A suggested selection gear is displayed during setup.
Complete dimension sheet and machine settings can be reviewed on screen and
printed out for use at machine
Comes complete with on-line context sensitive help screens
As you move from input to input, the F1 key "keeps up" with you.
F1 always displays help and suggestions for the current input.

How do I obtain a license and activate the software?
The updated ID and Activation key pairs are all numerical.
Where do I find the COMPUTER ID NUMBER?
Be sure you have installed the demo on the computer where you intend to run the software.
The ID Number is different for each PC.
Start up the demo and select "READ & ACTIVATE". Then select "I AGREE".
The next screen displays the ID number for the software on your computer.
What is an ACTIVATION KEY?
An activation key is a string of characters that, when typed into the activation screen, turns the demo into a
fully functional software solution. Also, all future software updates
will respect the activation key on the same PC.
You may install and run CPC software on a Local Area Network system, but the license and ID Number (and its Activation Key) will correspond only to the workstation from which you run the software.
Test the demo, ask questions, and/or
request a free setup
for your machine and your gear specs before you purchase a user license. We want you to be satisfied and
convinced that CPC-BV4 meets your requirements and makes you more productive.
Tech Support Resources for Registered Users
An active "All Things Gearing" Forum is hosted there for any general question you might have about gearing and gear machines.
No matter what your level of experience, you should request the manual.
If you have a problem that you can't resolve, don't hesitate - start the dialog.
Email Tech Support with a description
When you need additional Activation keys or help with CPC-BV4, Email your request for a new activation key.
Email works best in these situations because it gives tech support a written reference for study,
Once you have received an ACTIVATION KEY, the sale is final.
Ash Gear and CommunityPC want you to be successful. To that end, we offer you comprehensive on-line context sensitive help
