CPC-HOB - For All Manual Gear Hobbing Machines

CPC-HOB is fast and simple to use. Be assured that change gear sets will be the best ratio match available from your inventory and will fit at the machine. Just by eliminating scrap and return trips to the computer, CPC-HOB will improve your productivity.
Select the target hobbing machine, enter your gear specs, and CPC-HOB creates a complete set of change gears - for differential or non-differential machines. Easily control table feed even in helical gear setups for machines without a differential.
Use it during your quote phase to avoid surprises and unforseen problems. Identify jobs requiring special tooling (as you know, customers have been known to send out "difficult" jobs).

Maintains a customized list of your hobbing machines.
    Enter machine constants once and only once. If you have difficulty
    finding out what your hob machine constants are, we can do it for you.
    This is the only time you need to consider what a machine constant is!
Works for all types of gear hobbing machines:
    with differential, without differential, dial feed, or tangential feed.
    Extend index gear set range by creating "virtual" machines using additional gear pairs.
Change gear inventories may be customized for each machine.
    Enter a min. and max. size and enter missing sizes to be excluded
    from change gear sets.
Simply select a machine from the machine list and enter gear specs
    Suggest a table feed and CPC-HOB does the rest.

Don't like a change gear set?
    Remove, multiply, divide, or factor change gear sizes easily on screen
    for any change gear set (index, differential, or feed). CPC-HOB will
    not let you make a mistake, and tells you what's wrong if you try.
Automatically creates "hybrid" setups for spur gears with large prime tooth numbers
    A hybrid setup does not require prime change gears. (It does require using a differential machine
    with feed change gears. Also, second cuts require careful realignment of cutter and teeth.)
Determines nominal OD and over pin measurement
    You specify Pressure angle and Min/Max backlash allowance. CPC-HOB will suggest the correct Van Keuren
    pin size, yet will allow you to specify your own pin size. Very handy when you have +/- pin sets.
Creates matching RH and LH setups for non-differential machines
    Ever cut the same gear in both RH and LH helix? CPC-HOB
    easily produces both setups using same feed gears - When 1st gear
    is finished, simply change index gears and table angle to cut the 2nd gear.
Windows print dialog automatically displays printer choices each time you print
    Print to any printer you have access to as well as your Windows default printer.
    Print out specs and gear sets for a working machine setup every time.
CPC-HOB creates a .txt file image of your printed setup
    Setup .txt files are referenced to each printed setup, or optionally configured as a
    single "last setup" .txt file. Handy for Emailing setups. Can be opened and printed
    from any word processor.
User Preference screen to control a number of options
    Printing, print file configuration, operating system, and index gear train size and range.
Comes complete with internal context sensitive help screens
    As you move from input to input, the F1 key "keeps up" with you.
    F1 always displays help and suggestions for the current input.

How do I obtain a license and activate the software?
Install CPC-HOB demo on your PC and check it out. When you are satisfied and ready to purchase a license, call Scott Atkinson at Ash Gear & Supply (248) 374-6155. Scott will ask you for the COMPUTER ID NUMBER and will give you an ACTIVATION KEY.

The updated ID and Activation key pairs are all numerical.

Where do I find the COMPUTER ID NUMBER?
Be sure you have installed the demo on the computer where you intend to run the software. The ID Number is different for each PC. Start up the demo and select "READ & ACTIVATE". Then select "I AGREE". The next screen displays the ID number for the software on your computer.

An activation key is a string of characters that, when typed into the activation screen, turns the demo into a fully functional software solution. Also, all future software updates will respect the activation key on the same PC.

You may install and run CPC software on a Local Area Network system, but the license and ID Number (and its Activation Key) will correspond only to the workstation from which you run the software.

Test the demo, ask questions, and/or request a free setup for your machine and your gear specs before you purchase a user license. We want you to be satisfied and convinced that CPC-HOB meets your requirements and makes you more productive.
Once you have received an ACTIVATION KEY, the sale is final.

If you have a problem that you can't resolve, don't hesitate - start the dialog. Email Tech Support with a description
of the problem you're having. Detail is good.

When you need additional Activation keys or help with CPC-HOB, Email your request for a new activation key.
Be sure to include the Computer ID in your email message. Pay close attention to the letters and numbers.
Watch out for these especially - O0, I1, Z2, and UV - They can be easily confused!

Email works best in these situations because it gives tech support a written reference for study,
and gives you a record of the conversation and solution.
