For me the only way is to reverse the machine with the work raised out of the way. You can minimize the wait time by switching the rpm gears and only feeding back far enough to restart the machine just before the start of the next cut.
One time I disengaged the feed out of habit. It had to be indicated in so manual type realignment was not possible. So I backed the machine out to the start position and moved the table toward the work piece while sighting over the hob untill it aligned with the tooth space. It's suprising how little the alignment changes as you move the table and reengage the feed. Of couse you need enough stock left to clean up, .01+.
